Diksha
married at the age of twenty to the love of her life, after dropping college and leaving her
family when they opposed to her choice. Marriage life was very happy for the
first few months but after that, her so called love of her life, started
abusing her and torturing her. And with no one to hold on to, she lived
silently bearing everything. And when she came to know that she was carrying a
new life in her womb, she felt like everything’s going to be alright. But when
that light also went off all of a sudden during an usual abuse of her husband,
she became shattered. So the second time when a life starting blooming inside
her, Diksha decided to act up. She left the place which was her only home for
the past few years to an unknown world. And with the help of an old friend, she
started rebuilding her life again. She joined an evening college to complete her
graduation and started working in the day time. Eventually and slowly she
regained composure of her own life. And when the daughter was ready to come
into this world, she was confident and happy and well prepared to welcome her,
all alone.

Your story moved me beyond words. Thank you
ReplyDeleteGood that she had the will and courage to come out of the abusive marriage. There are many women who suffer in silence.
ReplyDeleteThis is the truth for so many of us out there. I am so glad that she finally decided to take that step and build a good life, especially for the sake of her daughter.
ReplyDeleteInspirational..I am glad Diksha found her disha...

Bravo for the courage she showed and her determination in acting on it. So many suffer abuse quietly that the ones who move on deserve to be applauded.
ReplyDeleteLovely post, Sheethal.
Wow. Courageous girl. I like strong women. Nice one Sheetal Susan Jacob
ReplyDeleteGood that she broke free.
ReplyDeleteShe rebuilt her life and made a home for her daughter, liked reading your story.
ReplyDeleteGood that she didnt wait for too long. Sometimes, people stay in abusive marriages for years in a hope that things would be better some day, but that rarely happens.
ReplyDeleteA very touching and moving story that provokes a lot of thought about what some women have to go through in life. Thanks for sharing your D!
ReplyDeleteSo glad that she got finally away from her abuser and made something of herself for her and her child!
ReplyDeletebetty
I am glad to hear Diksha became courageous enough to stand on her own two feet to give her and her newborn daughter a chance of a new life. Too many women suffer abuse in silence for years, some never leaving out of fear. <3
ReplyDeleteDomestic violence is such a reality..and also the fact that so many women would not stand up and accept that are being abused. though it took Disha the loss of a child, I'm glad he finally mustered courage to walk out.
ReplyDeletenice story!
Oh that was a moving story - hope it will reach women in abusive relationships who could use some inspiration. Powerful!
ReplyDeleteI loved her happy ending. Wonderful story :)
ReplyDeleteI agree with Eli. This is such a huge problem and we need to do more. We have a famous football person here in Colorado whose son abused his girlfriend, threw her out of the car. What happened? Nothing, the son got off, not even community service, and the opportunity for the famous person to speak out about this problem which is endemic in football players did not happen.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful and heartwrenching at the same time.
ReplyDeleteGood for Diksha. It takes a brave person to do what she's done.
ReplyDeleteInspiring indeed, Sheethal. To step out of an abusive relation and to rebuild own life needs a lot of strength.
ReplyDeleteIt does happen in this world, right! Wondering how many stand up for their rights! Loving the names you give for the story :)
ReplyDeleteWay to go! Courageous and right decision on the lady's part.
