Had I looked back....

Had I looked back I could see a child who brought hope as he came to this

A child who's smile brightened up their world and in whom they saw their tomorrows. They lived and breathe in him and led his life as if it was their's... While trying to bring him up, they forgot that even thou a child, he's also an individual with his own mind and opinions.

Had I looked back I could see an unhappy soul behind the happy face...

A child ... who wanted to fly out far but who's wings got chained by someone else's dreams.

This is written for Write Tribe's 100 Words on Saturday's prompt... "Had I looked back..." which was given by Nischala who blogs at Verve.

  1. Lovely take on the prompt, so many children are chained to their parents' dreams and aspirations that they don't even realize that they are better at other things.

  2. This is unfortunate that a child must bear the burdens of the aspirations of their parents. Nice one for the prompt

  3. A child who wanted to fly out far but whose wings got chained by someone else's dreams. It happens in real life too where we so often get tangled in someone else's plans. Great take on the prompt !

  5. That's a nice write up, Sheethal.. and a powerful message being conveyed too.. one which is relevant in our society, which still shows traces of deprecated traditions in unhealthy amounts.. :)

  6. Sheethal wonderfully written. The parallels drawn drew pictures with words. That line where you say an unhappy soul behind a happy face- very touching..

  7. Very profound thought, Sheethal. It is sad when parents live their aspirations through their children, making it s tough for the child.

  10. It's very deep and sad that when we want to fly we are chained. It happen to so many people who sacrifice their dreams at the altar of somebody else.
