Courage Over Comfort

He turned the key and opened his door

Darkness and loneliness were awaiting him

It was not like this before some time

So many souls used to clue their eyes to the door

For him to appear after a day’s work

But now everything changed

He closed the door and let out a sigh

Neither sad nor sorry for anything

But just pride beaming in his eyes

He went inside his darkroom

Like a butterfly that breaks its cocoon

And flies out to freedom, he emerges out

In a red saree with bold lips and smoky eyes

And dangle earrings and gajra on her mane

Choosing courage over comfort

Happiness is a By-product.

When was a child, if someone asked me what I wanted to be when I grow up, I would say “Happy”. Yes. I just wanted to be happy. No matter what job I did, where I lived, how much I earned at the end I wanted to be happy. I wanted to cuddle in my bed with a smile. But as years piled in my age, as time passed, as I graduated from a student to employed, as I left my country for another place, the happiness also started blurring. The intensity just reduced. And then one day, I couldn’t even find it. There was not even a trace of her. (Let’s assume Happiness is a woman.)

I searched for her here in heaven and earth, in different countries, in various jobs, between different people, even in food, but I just couldn’t find her. I got tired. I stopped wandering searching for her. But after a while, I found that happiness couldn’t be found anywhere except within you.

I understood that happiness is not a life status. It’s a state of mind. Usually happiness is ephemeral. It lasts just for a short time. It’s because life is a mix of ups and downs. You can’t demand a life full of peaks without expecting a few slopes and gutters. And when you understand  that happiness is not a goal, by is a by product you reach a state of ultimate happiness, where you take everything with positiveness and a grateful heart and also with hope that the next day Sun will shine brighter.

So,

What is happiness for you? Are you happy at the moment?

The One That Got Away

If I say “I miss you" that would be an understatement.
I miss the fact that you're missing life and the things that might have happened in your life.
I miss seeing your face pop up in my social media.
I miss your existence.
And that sneaks hatred into me.
I hate that you would remain ageless when the world beneath you grows old.
I hate to see the world moving on without you, and there's absolutely no chaos in that.
I hate the conversations where I get to listen nothing.
I hate the mornings when I feel grumpy missing your physical being
I hate the nights when I miss your warmth.
I hate that you haunts me every day without my permission.
I hate that you got away from me.
All because …

I miss you.

Dream and Live

This too shall pass.

I know that, this too shall pass and I have to strong in the meanwhile. But sometimes the positiveness just oozes out from me pushing in the darker zones of my mind and mood. Everything happens for good, and I really really do believe that. But there are moments when I just want everything to be just perfect. And the impatience for allowing time to take care just doesn’t seem to be digested.

These days I open up my Blog and stare at the blank page thinking what to write. I am so blank for months. So much is happening yet nothing seems worth mentioning. My reading, writing, socializing everything came to a real dull point. Can’t remember the number of times my friends have been bugging about the same. So grateful for such beautiful souls around me.

I have got some strong instincts and they are right always every time. But unfortunately I never listen to them. I always chose the opposite road, and later on regret for the same. “It does not do to dwell on dreams and forget to live.” says J K Rowling.  You can’t live on just dreams and ignore all the chances universe gives to you to achieve those dreams. You have to walk towards that rather than pull your face away from them.

Make sure you dream, but trust yourself and make double sure you walk towards them too.
