Ten to One ...

Saw this one in Shilpa’s blog first. Ever since I started blogging I love taking up tags.
1) You get an easy post in your blog.
2) What another good way to introspect and reflect and have answers for some we-never-ask-ourselves-ever-questions.
So here goes my ten to one …

TEN HOW’S!

How did you get one of your scars? From a running around the home scenario. And it’s still there in my knees.

How did you celebrate your last birthday? With friends. Movie and Beach.

How are you feeling at this moment? I’m watching a Horror movie while I’m typing this. So I’m feeling Horror!

How did your night go last? Pretty uneventful!

How did you do in high school? I was a pretty good student.

How did you get the shirt you are wearing? I’m wearing an old PJ. Don’t quite remember from where.

How often do you see your best friends?  Not too often. Thou we chat on a day basis.

How much money did you spend last month? Don’t’ even remind me about that. I was somewhat bankrupt by the time my salary was credited.

How old do you want to be when you get married? 28. But I got married at 26.

How old will you be at your next birthday? 28.

9 WHAT’S!

Your mother’s name? Why do you even want to know?

What did you do last weekend? Work. Sleep. Movie. Just been lazy.

What is the most important part of your life? To feel happy about myself.

What would you rather be doing? A solo vacation.

What did you last cry over? Today morning.

What always makes you feel better when you’re upset? Coffee and Chocolate. And recently I found out Prayers too give me inner peace.

What’s the most important thing you look for in a significant other? Acceptability. Humour. Compassion.

What did you have for breakfast? A Cup of Coffee.

8 YOU’S!

Have you ever liked someone who had a girlfriend/boyfriend? No

Have you ever had your heart broken? Yes.

Have you ever been out of the country? Yes. I'm living in a country which is not my homeland.

Have you ever done something outrageously dumb? Yes. Lost track of the number.

Have you ever been back-stabbed by a friend? Yes.

Have you ever had sex on the beach? No. Not even the cocktail.

Have you ever read an entire book in a day? Absolutely. Many times.

7 WHO’S!

Who was the last person you saw? Colleagues.

Who was the last person you texted? Not one. Two friends.

Who was the last person to call you? Again another friend.

Who did you last hug? Brother.

Who is the last person who texted you? Friends who I texted last.

Who is the last person you said, “I Love You” to? Right now to my brother. When he's busying doing something I like to call him as if to say something important and just say "I love you." Because I truly love him and I love to irritate him too.

6 WHERE’S!

Where do your best friends live? All over the world. And near me too. Thanks to technology.

Where did you last go? Workplace.

Where did you last hang out? At a friend's place.

Where did you go to school? Holy Angels' Convent, Kerala.

Where is your favorite place to be? Yet to create.

Where did you sleep last night? My room. My bed with half a dozen pillows surrounding me.

5 DO’S!

Do you think anyone likes you? I think at least a few.

Do you ever wish you were someone else? No. But a much better version than me.

Do you know the muffin man? Nope

Does the future scare you? Yes.

Do your parents know about your blog? No.

4 WHY’S!

Why are you best friends with your best friend? For the bond of non-judgmental companionship, trust and love that we share.

Why did you get into blogging? Because I'm better with words when it's coming from my pen rather than my voice

Why did your parents give you the name you have? Mom named me. She thought it was a unique (then) and more of North Indian name.

Why are you doing this survey? I'm bored and my blog is super bored of been idle for long.

3 IFS!

If you could have one super power what could it be? To go back in time and change a few things.

If you could go back in one time and change one thing, would you? Yes, definitely!

If you were stranded on a deserted island and could bring one thing, what would you bring? Books. Food. Water. OK. One thing?! A boat loaded with fuel so I won't be stranded for long.

2 WOULD YOU EVER?

Would you ever get back together if one of your ex’s ever asked you? No. I won't part with someone just like that. There should be a reason.

Would you ever shave your head to save someone you love? Yes. Definitely!

1 LAST QUESTION!

Are you happy with your life right now? No. This is one of those bad phases. And things should get better than this which I'm sure it'll. But I'm happy for who I am.

Things To Tick Off Before The Last Breath ...

1. Travel
I want to see, explore, and experience different culture, cuisines and everything new about all the (atleast most of the) countries in this world and esp. India. Even thou I would like to go with a friend or a dear one, some places are entirely reserved for solo travelling.

2. Learn
There are so many subjects I want to learn academically. But in between got diverted to things that never interested me. Now, took the initial step to the old road. Thou it is going to take almost another 10 years to reach there… I am on my way.

3. Adopt a Baby Girl
The day I hit 30 (if not married), going to write the application for this. If unfortunately I am married before that, I will make sure my man is in tune with this decision of mine. Therefore, whatever my relationship status will be, adopting a child tops the list.

4. Book Café
A cozy cave with so much of colors, lights and soothing music in the background. Nook and corners filled with bookracks. Hammocks, beanbags, couches, and common reading areas and also private spaces to those who want to hide from the crowd, party rooms. Lots of caffeine, beverages, chocolates, other sinful delights, some selected cuisines, laughter, smiles, memories etc etc etc .

5. Careers
Work for a Newspaper – I want to know how these papers work. How journalists give their best to write a story, how photographers hold their breath to capture that perfect shot, how all these are combined to form the bundle of paper we hold each day with a cup of coffee to know about the world.

Work for a NGO – MAD was the group who showed me that happiness doubles when you make another person happy, and triples if it is a child. Another event with the kids made me realize there are children who want to be heard, who seek companionship, just to be there for them, and to ensure that everything good is going to happen to them. When I was part of these tiny tot moments of them, the self-satisfaction I felt was so immense. And I want more of that.

A teacher – No, I do not have the patience for this. Even an hour with my teenage brother along with his books, makes me scream, take a cane, blackmail him, pinch him, and makes me completely insane. So hours with students bearing all their acts is something above my tolerance level. But the way a teacher can touch a child’s life is magical. And atleast for once, I wish… I hope… I pray… I could be part of that magic.

6. Adventure
Sky diving/Paragliding/River drafting/Mountaineering/Scuba diving/etc etc …. These are things I intent to do when I pack my backpack and leave home to see the world. So when travelling is happening this is also definitely going to happen.

7. Live in New York
These days travelling to NY is not a big deal. But I don’t want to just visit that place and come back. It has always mesmerized me just by letting me know her through movies and books. I want to live there atleast for a year, be a part of everyday life in NY and want to know that place like the back of my hands.

8. My very own Library
This is one dream very bibliophile cherish. Same goes for me too. Imagine just opening that door in your house, when you are in need of a book. No driving. No shopping. No waiting. Nothing! Just take that book from the shelf, find a cozy corner, and curl up with a cup of cocoa and the book. Bliss!

9. Publish a Book
No… not my live story. A fiction? Not sure. But something.

10. Live life with no regrets

Waking up someday when I’m in my 60’s, 70’s or 80’s and realising that I didn’t live my life the way I wanted or didn’t see those places I dreamt of or didn’t read/see/experience that book/movie/show I so badly wanted too or didn’t take up that career I saw myself in or was too late to say “I love you” to someone or anything like that. Someone once said that peaceful death comes to those people who lived their dream life in their own terms. Therefore, that is the ultimate aim.

*****

This is a topic seen in Indiblogger.
These days’ bucketlists are incomplete without tags. So to make the story complete, I’m tagging Bhavya, Shalini, Meena, Shailaja & Gayatri  to share their 10 “must-do” things list. And anyone interested can take up too. Waiting to read all the list. :)

If I were ...

If I were a month - June: A little of this is because I was born in June :) and also my close friends. But mostly because I feel most active, happy, freaky (or shall I say least lazy) in June. I used to get to meet my long lost friends... and also because of the rains in Kerala (here it will be dripping hot)... in which I can enjoy my coffee...get drench with ice creams, be in beach along with drizzles... enjoy been cold!! :)

If I were a day of the week - Saturday: I just love the way Saturday starts... Lazily lying on the bed.. Dragging myself out and having some nice brunch. Reading paper in my sweet time... Just relaxing. The morning sets the tone for the entire day. Even on the days that we plan to go for a trip or something on a Saturday, it’s more of a relaxed and lazy getaway!!
Now that Saturday was from another time... now it's a working for me. Sigh!

If I were a time of day - Night: I feel myself most active during night time. My mind just gets filled up with so many ideas (most of them crazy) during the night… and everything that I am supposed to do and should do, I remember during the night time only.

If I were a season - Rains: I am in love with Rain. My favorite. Everything gets washed in the rain water and looks all fresh and full of life. Love getting drenched in it. You can savor the real taste of coffee and enjoy a book only when it’s raining. :D

If I were a planet - Pluto: Because of its infinite distance from sun, unreachable and coldness. (Is it a planet now?)

If I were a sea animal - No idea: I think I prefer being a human being. :D

If I were a direction - North: North gives me the idea of winter, snow and Jammu. :P

If I were a piece of furniture – A cozy full length couch with fluffy cushions: I prefer couch over bed. :D

If I were a liquid - Water: The elixir of life. I just love the peacefulness and freedom it gives just by looking at it.

If I were a tree - Yule tree: i.e., the Christmas tree.

If I were a flower – Rose of any color.

If I were a tool - Scissors: This is one tool I use pretty often.

If I were an element - Water: from the five elements of nature.

If I were a gemstone – Ruby :)

If I were a musical instrument - A Piano: Love the soulful and melancholy notes which come out of it.

If I were a color - Black: Mystery!!!

If I were an emotion - Love.

If I were a fruit - Mangoes for me... :)

If I were a sound - The splattering sound that rain makes, the sound of blowing wind, the sound of stormy sea etc.

If I were a car - Anything that's really fast.

If I were food - I don’t know. But is chocolate a food?

If I were a taste - Salty & Tangy: Both of them together are my favorite tastes.

If I were a scent - Scent of jasmine.

If I were a pair of shoes - Can’t have a choice in this....  I love all sort of foot wears from flats, boots, platforms, stilettos to sneakers. :P :D

If I were a bird - A cute little sparrow. :)

:)

How About you? What are your If I were's ....
