My
laptop is nearly 10 years old. Its battery is insanely short. Have changed its power
plug thrice, the keypad twice, changed software and done numerous services too.
But none of these could make me change my laptop.
Ever
since I have got this one, I haven’t used another one with ease. The numerous
presentations, editing for dramas, designing for posters and brochures for work,
my writings everything for all these years was done using this. My brother
calls this an old junk. But for me it’s my greatest resource. My gateway to
learn new ideas and apps. So even when it’s old and needs repair now and then,
I am in love with it from day one.

I totally get what you mean! Something's are just to hard to replace! Hope that it's stays with you for ten more years! Even more if possible:)
ReplyDeleteThank you so much. I do hope it does.
DeleteThat's so faithful and sweet of you!!! I have my decade old laptop too, just can't get myself away from it.

I can relate completely Sheethal, there are things you really do not want to change. I have this block in my mind everytime I need to change my laptop, especially because every new version comes up with a different input these style these days.
ReplyDeleteI think it's the convenience that makes us stick to a few things. My mobile is like that for me.
ReplyDeleteIt is surely hard to do away with stuff which has been useful for us for a long time. But yes 10 years is a long time for a laptop to sustain :D
ReplyDeleteI hear you about how important the laptop is! I'm amazed though yours has lasted 10 years. None of my windows laptops lasted more than 3
ReplyDelete10 years!! wow now that's one strong machine . Mine died in 5 years and had to buy a new one :)
ReplyDeleteI've gone through numerous laptops--am amazed you've managed to make one works o long!
ReplyDeleteI'm amazed yours is still working fine for 10 years. I'd agree with Sanch. Mine never lasted for more than 4 years!
ReplyDeleteI know what you mean. It takes me time to get settled with a new device, and then, I hang on to it for ever 😊
ReplyDeleteAh! I know the feeling, for my laptop is my tech soulmate too. But I cant continue with one for so long. LOL :D My current laptop (5 years old) is working great except for a battery issue but I am so looking forward to exchange it with a new one :D
ReplyDeleteI've never had a laptop. But I've used my PC for quite a long time now too. Lot of blogging and writing memories :-) so I know what you mean.
ReplyDeleteLaptop and phone are the two resources I am most dependent on
ReplyDeleteGee.. And I throw them away as soon as I can. I am not a gadget freak but yeah, kind of :P Oh, there are some things which I can't replace though - like a good book, a journal and stuff.
ReplyDeleteI am having that old heavy laptop too. Since it was gifted by brother, it seems to be a treasure for me too.
ReplyDeleteYou must have so many memories associated with that laptop. A very good resource it is indeed!
ReplyDeleteAh!!! not sure if you got my earlier comment.. my laptop just crashed.. And considering it is my favourite resource too.... The internet is the greatest revolution and team it up with the laptop it is the window to the world. What say?
ReplyDeleteI could totally connect to your post...mine is 7 years old, got many repairs done but yet do not feel like ditching it and opting for a brand new laptop..
ReplyDeleteWell I can't work with a laptop nor with an iPad or tablet. Give me a PC or mobile ( strange isn't it? ) but I understand that your laptop is THE resource you value. I can't imagine life without computers
