F is for ...

Away from the crowd occupying her own little space she was unconcerned about the world. Neither knowing what's happening nor hearing the murmurings around her, she just lived listening to the voices in her head and engulfed in the darkness inside her.

Once, she was that girl who had a place in everyone's heart and house. No celebrations were complete without her laughter and songs. She was friends with both the old and young. She was others comfort zone as no one hesitated to pour out their worries and tears on her. But, one day down the lane, she lost herself. As if someone just flipped a coin somewhere out there, she got consumed by her own solitude, without hearing or knowing anything.

Everyone was curious to know what happened to her, but not curious enough to find the truth. Maybe it was her own choice to the path of ultimate freedom from the chaos of the crowd or play of the fate. But who was to answer the world when she herself was far detached from life....

  4. I find that very sad that she was there for everyone else, but when she needed someone no one bothered to find out where she went or how she was. People are so self absorbed! ♥

  7. Maybe all she needs is a helping hand to pull her up unless this is the path she chose for herself...

  8. A very interesting take on the Freedom...it can really be of so many kinds, can be experienced in so many ways...arrived at through so many paths. Very nicely done!

  9. 'but not curious enough to find the truth' So much pain and truth in these lines...the mindset of the ever curious society. This was beautifully written and left me wanting for more... So many why's left unanswered...

  14. This is thought provoking to say the least. I don't think many people can pinpoint that moment in time when everything changed. I wonder if anyone cared to find the truth would she have been able to answer truthfully? Reflex Reactions

  23. This piece is heartbreaking but thoughtful and poetic. "...to the path of ultimate freedom" means one thing to me, so I'm hoping that what I'm thinking isn't what happened to her.
